How it works at sea

500+ alerts. One voice.

Under sail

The wind has been building for an hour. You’re busy trimming.

“Warning. Wind speed has exceeded 30 knots. Action required!”

In a busy channel

Single-handed through a shipping lane. A commercial vessel is closing on your starboard side.

“Alert. Commercial vessel collision risk, alter to starboard. Relative bearing 045 degrees. Distance 2.8 nautical miles. CPA 0.1 nautical miles. Time to collision 6 minutes.”

At anchor, 3AM

Everyone asleep. The wind shifts. You didn’t set an alarm — you didn’t need to.

“Alert. Anchor drag detected. 15 meters. Drift rate 0 point 8 meters per minute.”

Man over board

Someone goes over the lifeline. No shout. No button. Within 10 seconds:

“Emergency. Man Over Board! Man Over Board! Man Over Board! Relative bearing 045 degrees. Distance 40 meters.”

Galvanic Pulse

A bracelet for every person aboard. The Voice unit knows who’s where, and triggers MOB automatically when someone goes over board. Two as standard with every Galvanic Voice, up to 16 per vessel — crew and guests.

Pre-order bonus: + 4 free Galvanic Pulse bracelets (€400 value)

  • MOB triggerLets the Voice unit know before someone can shout.1 Multi-unit consensus handles BLE attenuation across bulkheads.
  • Sleep and fatigue trackingTracks how long each crew member has slept. Feeds real rest data into watch scheduling.
  • Haptic and audible alertsVibration and buzzer. Used for recall, MOB, low battery, and crew identification.
  • Watch managementRequests check-ins on watch. Detects slowed responses — a sign of fatigue setting in. Escalates if unresponsive.

The Galvanic Voice System

One box. Voice, Pulse, App.

Install, what’s in the box, full specs, common questions — everything you need before you pre-order.

Is there a subscription?

No. All features described on this page are included with no subscription. €950 + VAT is the total price.

Common questions.

Galvanic Voice speaks. 500+ spoken alerts in plain language tell you what’s happening, where, and how fast — so you stay focused on sailing. Collision avoidance, MOB, anchor watch, crew management, and remote monitoring, in one system.

Yes — typical install is around 10 minutes. One 121 mm hole saw, feed the cable through, the clamp grips the panel automatically (2–30 mm thick). Plug in NMEA 2000 and 12V. No screws, no sealant, no special tools, no haul-out.

The Pulse bracelets keep working without NMEA 2000 — MOB detection, sleep and fatigue tracking, watch management all run standalone over Bluetooth between the Voice unit and the bracelets.

What needs NMEA 2000 is the boat’s instruments and the data they share — wind, depth, speed, AIS traffic, autopilot, battery, bilge, chartplotters, MFDs. If your boat doesn’t have a backbone yet, it’s worth adding one: NMEA 2000 is the modern standard, available at any chandlery, and opens up the full range of mainstream instruments from any brand.

Galvanic Voice is designed for 12V systems only (10.8–15.6V). A 24V vessel needs a 24V-to-12V DC-DC converter, available from any chandlery — sold separately. Email support@galvanicworks.com for converter recommendations.

Yes. All safety features run onboard. Remote monitoring from shore needs a connection, but safety is standalone.

Five at launch — English, Spanish, French, Italian, German. Switch in the app’s Captain tab.

Up to 16 per vessel. Two come standard with every Galvanic Voice; pre-order ships six in total (two as standard + four extra during pre-order). Additional bracelets sold separately — 1 for €200, 2 for €300, 4 for €400 (all + VAT).

Three-year legal guarantee of conformity on the Voice unit and Pulse bracelets, running from delivery. In the first two years, any defect is presumed to have existed at delivery; in the third year, the buyer must show the defect existed at delivery. Full conditions in our sales terms. Spare parts available for five years. Free firmware updates for a minimum of five years from purchase — all updates are user-controlled, nothing installs without your approval. If an update fails, the unit reverts to the previous version automatically.

Yes. The Galvanic App is free on iOS and Android — iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and Android tablets. No paid tiers, no in-app purchases, no ads. Every feature on this page works for every Galvanic Voice owner at no extra cost. In the future we may offer optional paid services that rely on third-party subscriptions — for example nautical charts or premium weather providers — but never for features delivered by us.

Every Voice unit ships with a unique ownership code. The new owner enters it in the app, the previous claim is auto-revoked, and no personal data carries across. No factory reset, no calling support. GDPR-aligned.

You pay in full when you place the pre-order. The price you pay is locked — any future price increase will not apply to your order. You can cancel any time before dispatch, for any reason, and we refund the full amount (price, VAT, delivery) within 14 days. If our shipping date slips by more than 30 days, we email you and you choose: wait for the new date or cancel for a full refund. Full conditions in our sales terms.

Proper seamanship, watchkeeping duties, and compliance with COLREGS remain the skipper’s sole responsibility. Certain features may require additional bracelets, compatible NMEA 2000 equipment, or optional accessories sold separately. Some features described here are under active development and specifications may change before release.

1 MOB triggers when a registered Galvanic Pulse bracelet’s signal is lost for more than 10 seconds (manual debounce). On larger boats with multiple Voice units installed, MOB requires consensus loss (all units must lose the signal). Detection time may vary with environmental conditions.

2 RTFM — “Read The F*ing Manual.” Engineering shorthand for what you usually do after a problem (and after the purchase). We publish ours in full, up-front, so you can do it before — no guessing what the product does before your credit card comes out.
